Engineering Design & Operation

The disc moves along the stem axis and approaches the seat as the valve closes. This gives the operator control over the flow opening and allows the valve to be used for throttling as well as isolation.

Forged globe valves are available with different bonnet and connection arrangements. Smaller valves may use threaded or socket-weld ends, while butt-weld and flanged configurations are available for suitable designs.
